I love wearing hats and have found a great shop. It's called the Queen of Hats in Portland, Maine. Here's a link to their website: http://www.queenofhats.com/

that red flower hat is gorgeous!!!

i actually never wear hats in winter...i have a very small head and a mass of curly hair that keeps it warm. Also i work hard at keeping a bit of volume on top so adding a hat i don't plan to keep on all day wouldn't work out that well...

but i love them on other women and i think they're a great way to add some pop and style to an outfit for cheap! I'm jealous!

I’m glad that there is a “youlookfab wearing a hat” consensus.

Tanya and Athena, you look utterly adorable in hats and I’m glad you wear them. Sarah, I hope you’re encouraged.

Nice tip about the static spray, Linda.

Joelle, I have a client with a round moon face who looks fabulous in hats. Don’t give up!

I enjoy wearing hats and gravitate towards knit caps and cloches. I have long hair and it is true that they only look good with hair down. I also have a couple of berets and one straw hat with a brim, but somehow I don't like how they look on me--maybe it has to do with having a round face?

I love these posted hats (especially the cloche). Since I live in New Hampshire and I have yard duty at school, they are a necessity. I never feel quite comfortable in hats, but I found a style that works for me . Last year I purchased a hat and matching gloves to go with my 1930s or 40s fitted black coat with fur collar.
Take a look at the Red Rover website.
http://www.bumbley.com/RedRover.html
They are pricey, but I found them at a local shop for half price in January . The pictures do not do them justice, and the quality is excellent.

I adore newsboys and could wear one every day if I had enough variety in my hat collection. :) Interestingly, my face is a similar shape to the girl pictured here in a newsboy.

Hats look great on other people, but I look ridiculous in them. And, like Linda, I have a huge head. LOL A stylish hat would never fit me, and a regular winter hat squeezes my brains out. Plus, I just look stupid! I'll wear them only out of necessity if I have to spend any amount of time outside in the cold. Even though I have long hair, my face is just too long to pull off a hat. I need my hair showing completely in order to balance me out.

I have the opposite problem of many who posted - I have a huge head! I also live in the middle of Canada which means it is VERY cold for 4 months of the year, so consequently spend a lot of time looking for hats to cover my big head. In the winter I never go out without a hat - you lose 50% of you body heat through your head so it is essential for the climate I live in!
To prevent static cling I sometimes spray the inside of my hat with Static Guard and I also use a product on my hair by Sebastian called Laminates Sheer Smoothing which is also an anti-static product.
I love all of the looks you showcased. I find it is also important that the style of the hat fits the style of the coat I choose to wear. The cute cabbies and newsboys are difficult to wear with my necessary down-filled coat, but I've managed to make it work by combining it with a funky scarf.
