For wool fans - smartwool! Cute, comfy and they don't stay wet if your feet sweat a lot, so your feet stay warmer.

Thanks for the info, Joy. That’s interesting and I’m always happy to hear about happy feet. Perhaps you’ve helped someone else solve their cold feet problem.

Deborah, I’m allergic to wool which is why I do not prefer it directly on my skin. I get itchy and uncomfortable, and my eczema flairs up. (Glad you found the forum).

I am always on the hunt for the perfect, thin, mostly soft wool, sock. Marshall Field's carried some from Ralph Lauren several years ago that I just loved. I affectionately called them my grandpa socks. They stopped making them and, of course, mine are getting very thin even though I have at least 20 pair. I love wearing them over my tights inside my knee-high boots. Protects my tights from getting worn out at the toes from rubbing on the boots.

Why the no-wool? I am seriously looking for socks to replace these wonderful socks. If anyone has a suggestion, please drop me a line!

I love this blog Angie! Where is the forum?

Angie, my diabetic feet get soooo cold. I friend whose husband is diabetic was advised to change socks. He always carries extras in the car and to work. I tried it when my feet were cold and it really helps warm them up again. I'm amazed at how damp my socks become. This is probably too much information but it maybe it will help someone else like it helped me.

Violet, that's a cute idea.

Sal, glad you feel these are great too. I bought 6 pairs and am thrilled. My feet are happiest in shoes and boots when I can wear comfy socks. Socks are VERY important and an area of our wardrobe that deserves attention.

Linda, We HAVE to get you into the swing of wearing socks!!!

Sarah, I’m sorry to hear that white athletic socks give you blisters. I hope you replace your sad socks soon. Keeping our feet happy is SO important.

Athena, what are bamboo socks? Joy, it’s interesting that you need to change your socks a few times a day. Why is that?

Megan, post your question on the forum and we’ll help you out.

Especially in the winter my feet get so cold that I need lots and lots of socks, especially thinner wool ones. To keep my feet warm I need to change socks 2 or 3 times a day.

I have a fetish for argyle socks. I have all sorts of socks though. . .way too many, recently did a clean-up actually. It really depends on the purpose. I wear hose-like socks with dress pants; thick, snuggly socks with pjs or cords; knee socks with dresses or skirts AROUND THE HOUSE ONLY!! :); recently got several pairs of bamboo socks which are nice and thin and comfy, and wear those with just regular slacks.
