I’m jealous. I would certainly drive the 45 minutes to the nearest Nordstrom, but at the moment I’m running low in the clothing budget area. Still, I’m very tempted to go and look for some great “back to school” clothes. I’m craving black lace.

I have heard about this. There is a Nordstrom off the rack store in Glendale (CA) and near there the store at the mall. Might have to go visit

Our store is indeed pretty small, Patience. We should definitely check out online sales too, because they might have something there that is not available in our store (I’ve come across that a lot). I hope the new Nordie’s they’re opening up at the Domain is bigger!

Also, don’t be compelled to purchase up a storm. If you come home with one statement piece you love, you have done well. I often come home with only one or two pieces.

For various reasons, I wasn’t able to pre-select this year, but it sounds like you did well Carolyn. Nice!

Patience, I detest shopping in crowds too and I shop for a living. Nordstrom sale chaos in very organized and controlled. This is the store that prides itself on delivering the best customer service in the world ( I would have to agree). So the anniversary sale is really not a bad experience. The only problems you’ll encounter is that your size is gone and the queue for the fitting room is unmanageable. More tips:

o Shop online
o Buy the item and try it on at home
o If your size is gone, try again in a week. There is so much returning going on the first week, your size is bound to bounce back
o Pay at low traffic till points like menswear and home ware
o Choose the most important department and go there first
