In true sci-fi fashion, silver is the metal of the season. Sleek, shiny, mod and cool, it’s a futuristically fresh highlight to any Spring or Summer enssemble. Whether you sport a silver satchel, clutch, sling-back, sneaker or ballet flat, it’s a daytime trend that’s not to be reserved for nights out. And don’t just look for silver shoes, handbags and jewelry, but for shiny platinum hardware and sparkly silver clothing as well.
Make a trendy statement by stepping out with something shimmery and silver this season. (But don’t worry if you invested in bronze and gold last year – they are still chic and not to be ignored).

Hey Angie,
Is there anything new or interesting in hoisery for spring? I am tired of black tights, don’t like pantyhose, and want something that says “spring” – but it is still COLD outside many days. Suggestions welcome!

A sheer micro spot is the it hose at the moment. Try a neutral colour or dark grey. Otherwise a mock fishnet is still best (but won’t keep you terribly warm though).

What is a micro spot? Sheer stockings with dots?

How does one use silve to coordinate an outfit? I don’t believe I can make the Barberella look work at work. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062711/)

Love it! Silver has always been “it” for me! Did you see that silver Celine trench? Gorgeous–I better win the lottery soon.

Not sure I’m liking the silver. I think I’d have to see it as part of an entire outfit to make a final decision. I think it looks very dressy–like something you’d wear with a formal gown if you were having dinner at the Captain’s Table on Love Boat.
But it does remind me of a jacket I had when I a kid back in the 70’s. Shiny silver bomber style jacket with all these military patches..anyone else remember that fashion fad??

[...] It’s natural to want to embrace the hippie look if you’re a bohemian ‘60’s and ‘70’s child at heart. Breezy empire cut tops, craftsy embroideries and motifs, crocheted anything, straggly denim bellbottoms, earthy leather accessories, caftans, flowing patchwork maxi dresses, long tiered skirts, batik prints, headbands and beaded necklaces. This boho trend is everywhere; but this time in direct contrast with the sleek and sci-fi futuristic styles alongside it. [...]
