I have to admit, although this intrigues me, I would never buy it. I tend to chew regular lipstick off within about an hour. I personally LOVE those new "lipstain" type lipsticks that covergirl/revlon/etc etc etc have out now. Nowhere near as environmentally friendly, however at the end of the day there is still some left on my lips.

I would be interested if someone knew of a similar product that was more earth friendly.

Thanks for clearing up the misconception! It sounds to good to be true and a fabulous marketing ploy at that.

I bought a colour called Cece (supposedly designed by Courtney Cox?). It looks like a dark berry red in it's holder, but it's light when you wear it. It merely enhances your lip colour. Nice and natural.

I saw that lipstick on Sephora's website and was greatly intrigued. I think I might buy one. Which color did you get?

The environmental lawyer in me has to say one thing. It is a misconception that corn is greenhouse gas neutral--a misconception promoted by Midwestern politicians and the farm lobbies. Corn is only environmentally beneficial if you don't count the petroleum that goes into the fertilizers, the great amounts of pesticides required in monoculture fields, the genetic engineered varieties of corn now grown, and the copious amounts of gas to fuel the equipment farmers must use to plow and harvest the gigantic fields of corn. But if we can work out those problems, corn does look promising!
